Germany defender Jonathan Tah says that his national side "should be proud" to have players of Leroy Sane's calibre in their ranks.

Jonathan Tah has talked up the importance of Manchester City winger Leroy Sane and insists that Germany "should be proud" to have him in their ranks.

The 22-year-old has been a key member in the Citizens' quest to win a treble this season, playing a direct part in 26 goals in all competitions so far.

Sane is now focused on nailing down a starting spot for Germany ahead of this summer's World Cup finals, and Tah believes that the Man City flyer is destined to be one of the stars of the tournament.

Asked about Sane and Die Mannschaft's other younger players, Tah told Omnisport: "For sure, this is the future. I think Germany should be proud to have players like them.

"What each of them is doing at that young age is simply outstanding. There are also a few more. I think that this will be the future, yes."

Germany face Spain and Brazil over the next six days, with Sane expected to play a part in both friendlies.
