Jadon Sancho admits that he has been impressed by what England international teammate Raheem Sterling has achieved both on and off the field.

Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho has labelled Raheem Sterling "an inspiration to a lot of youngsters" for his stance against racism.

Sterling has been praised for repeatedly calling out racist abuse in the past, particularly in March 2019 when demanding tougher punishments after England's players were targeted during a qualifying clash against Montenegro.

Manchester City academy product Sancho has been impressed by what his international teammate has achieved both on and off the field, having also been named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year last season.

"He is an inspiration to a lot of youngsters, especially because he is from London and I am from London," he told Sky Sports News.

"I am sure every youngster from London will look up to him and probably try to be like him and win big awards like that one day.

"I agree with Raheem a lot. He has had some tough experiences. It is not nice when what you do on the pitch and what you love, to hear those things off the pitch.

"What he is doing is really good for us and we have just got to support him and get behind him."

Sancho's future has dominated the gossip columns in recent weeks, with Real Madrid and Barcelona expected to rival Manchester United for his signature.
