Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says that it is "impossible" for his team to win the quadruple this season.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that winning all four trophies is "impossible" for his team.

The North-West outfit are in contention to win the Premier League title as they have a 12-point advantage at the top.

The club are also in the final of the EFL Cup, and the Champions League remains up for grabs ahead of the last-16 stage.

At the weekend, City booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a victory over Cardiff City, but Guardiola does not think that a quadruple is possible due to injuries.

During the match against Cardiff, Leroy Sane suffered ankle ligament damage as a result of a tackle from Joe Bennett, who was later sent off for a challenge on Brahim Diaz.

"Did I fear serious injuries? Of course," talkSPORT quotes Guardiola as saying. "Every team can play how they want. If they decide to play in that way, perfect, but there is one man, in black, and he has to decide what is correct and incorrect.

"When you say, 'Why don't you win the four titles?' I need the players to win the four titles. It's impossible for that to happen."

Next up for City is a home clash against West Bromwich Albion in the league on Wednesday.
