How Manchester City could line up against Crystal Palace

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up in Sunday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Manchester City will be looking to put a fifth straight Premier League victory on the board when they welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday night.

Wins over Southampton, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion have moved Pep Guardiola's side into third spot in the table, just four points behind leaders Manchester United.

The Citizens will now be eyeing their eighth straight success in all competitions, but Palace have picked up four points from their last two visits to the Etihad Stadium in the top flight.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how City could line up this weekend.

Guardiola revealed during Friday's press conference that Aymeric Laporte and Nathan Ake remain unavailable for selection through injury, while Sergio Aguero is still absent due to self-isolation rules.

Eric Garcia, Cole Palmer and Scott Carson have all been cleared to return, though, and the City manager is expected to make changes from the win over Brighton last time out.

Kyle Walker is in line to return at right-back, which could see Joao Cancelo move across to the left, while Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus could both be handed starting roles.

Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez are expected to drop to the bench, but Phil Foden has been in excellent form in recent weeks and should retain his position on the left.

Fernandinho is an option for change in the middle of the park, but it seems likely that Kevin De Bruyne will again be joined by Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan in a midfield area.
