Danilo picks up a fresh injury in Brazil's 1-0 win against Argentina, making him doubtful for Manchester City's home match against Burnley next weekend.

Manchester City will monitor the fitness of Danilo after the defender left the field in tears during Brazil's late 1-0 win against Argentina.

The 27-year-old, who only returned from an ankle injury last month, was left upset after appearing to damage the same part of his body in Tuesday evening's friendly.

Danilo picked up the injury when attempting to halt an Argentina attack and had to be replaced by Liverpool's Fabinho for the remaining 37 minutes in Saudi Arabia.

Man City are back in action on Saturday afternoon with a home match against Burnley.

Citizens boss Pep Guardiola has called on Danilo just once this term, with the full-back playing a full part in the 3-0 win over Oxford United in the EFL Cup.
