How Manchester City could line up against Burnley

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up in Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Premier League champions Manchester City will be looking to return to winning ways in the top flight when they host Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side missed a late penalty against Liverpool before the international break to draw and are one of three teams - the other two being Liverpool and Chelsea - to have 20 points from eight matches this term.

City will fancy their chances of putting another three points on the board this weekend, especially considering that they have won each of their last five Premier League matches at the Etihad Stadium.

City have also not lost at home to Burnley since March 1963, which is an indication of the size of the task facing the Clarets this weekend.

Here, Sports Mole has a look at how the Citizens could line up against Sean Dyche's side at the Etihad Stadium.

Possible MNC XI vs. BUR

Out: Claudio Bravo (Achilles), Eliaquim Mangala (knee), Danilo (ankle)
Doubtful: Kevin De Bruyne (knee), Ilkay Gundogan (hamstring), Fabian Delph (knock)

Kevin De Bruyne will have a late fitness test to ascertain whether the Belgium international is fit to return for City, having missed his team's last seven Premier League matches with a knee problem.

The Citizens will definitely be without Claudio Bravo, Eliaquim Mangala and Danilo, while Ilkay Gundogan and Fabian Delph are doubts for Guardiola's side this weekend.

There are not expected to be many surprises in their starting XI, however, with Raheem Sterling - fresh from his double for England against Spain - joining Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane in the final third of the field.

It might well be the turn of Aymeric Laporte and Nicolas Otamendi to start in central defence, with Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker operating in the full-back positions.

Meanwhile, David Silva and Bernardo Silva could start in deeper midfield positions alongside Fernandinho, although that would change if De Bruyne passes a late fitness test.
