How Manchester City could line up against Burnley

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up against Burnley in Saturday's FA Cup tie.

Manchester City welcome Burnley to the Etihad Stadium for the second season running in the FA Cup, aiming for a repeat of last season's outcome.

The Citizens brushed aside their Premier League opponents 4-1 a little over 12 months ago, before being dumped out by Wigan Athletic a couple of rounds later.

City head into the tie on a seven-match winning run that has seen them crush the likes of Rotherham United and Burton Albion, seeing off the latter 10-0 on aggregate in their EFL Cup semi-final.

Ahead of Saturday's showdown with Burnley, Sports Mole looks at how the English champions could line up.

Out: Vincent Kompany (muscle injury), Claudio Bravo (Achilles)

Ian Carlo Poveda made his debut and Philippe Sandler was handed a first start as Guardiola made eight changes for the midweek trip to Burton.

City were able to rotate as they were already nine goals ahead from the first leg, but they do not have that luxury against fellow top-flight side Burnley.

The three players to retain their places in the side against Burton - Danilo, Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne - are likely to be given the day off this weekend. Kyle Walker, Gabriel Jesus and Ilkay Gundogan are the obvious choices to fill in.

Benjamin Mendy made his latest return from injury at the Pirelli Stadium, meanwhile, and Guardiola must now decide whether to hand the left-back his first start since November 11.

Another of those in contention for a recall is Raheem Sterling, who has been involved in at least one goal in nine of his last 10 FA Cup starts, though Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez may get the nod here.
