Sergio Aguero admits that his Manchester City teammates are pleased for outgoing manager Manuel Pellegrini as they progress to the Champions League semi-finals.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has said that he and his teammates are pleased for outgoing manager Manuel Pellegrini after they secured progression to the Champions League semi-final last night.

Kevin De Bruyne was on target for the Citizens as they wrapped up a 3-2 aggregate win over tie favourites Paris Saint-Germain to reach the semis of the competition for the first time in their history.

Pellegrini will hand over the reins to Pep Guardiola this summer, and Aguero admitted that the team would now give their all for the Chilean in his final few months at the Etihad.

"We know that Pellegrini won't be here for the next season, so to be in the semis is something really amazing," Aguero told reporters after the game. "It gives us great pride to take City to this level.

"It is important for Pellegrini and for all of us, but obviously it is important for him because he knows he won't be here for next season. I imagine he must be very happy, very pleased. I hope we can go even further.

"This was our goal, to be among the four best teams in the Champions League and now we want to keep growing. The confidence is there, we are in semis and anything can happen. We will be at our maximum, depending on who we play against, but we will be going all out to win it."

City will be joined in Friday's semi-final draw by Real Madrid, as well as the winners of tonight's clashes between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona (1-2) and Benfica and Bayern Munich (0-1).
