Malmo boss Age Hareide is confident that his team will be able to secure a point against Real Madrid in the final Group A match in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Malmo boss Age Hareide has revealed that his team are ready to 'get the point they need' against Real Madrid in order to stand a chance of finishing third in Group A.

Both teams will complete their Champions League group campaign on Tuesday evening with a clash at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have already qualified for the round of 16 as group winners, but Malmo need to avoid defeat to stand a chance of finishing above Shakhtar Donetsk and therefore securing a spot in the Europa League.

Malmo also need Paris Saint-Germain to do them a favour against Shakhtar, but Hareide is confident that his team can continue their European journey this season.

"Clearly I want to think of it as a normal game. It's been a fantastic journey for two years, we've experienced a lot, and I'm sure there will be many emotions," Hareide told reporters.

"There are always possibilities in football and although Madrid have already qualified, we know they'll try to win because it's the Champions League. We know it'll be difficult but we'll prepare to get the point we need. That's my job and the players' job.

"I think we did well against Madrid [in Sweden]. But there was too much emotion at playing against stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, and eventually we were effected. We did good work but small mistakes cost us goals. Being thrashed hurts but most important is to work well as a team, stay organised, together. I believe we'll play a good game as a team."

The clash with Real Madrid will be Hareide's final game in charge of the Swedish outfit.
