Wolverhampton Wanderers emerge as a surprise alternative destination for Liverpool target Anderson Talisca.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have emerged as a surprise potential destination for Liverpool target Anderson Talisca.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who currently plies his trade for Benfica in Portugal, is reportedly the subject of a £21m bid from the Reds but the transfer is being hampered by work permit difficulties.

Portuguese publication Record claims that Talisca is instead considering a move to second-tier Wolves, where completing necessary paperwork would be a much easier feat.

Talisca's move out of Portugal is being handled by renowned football agent Jorge Mendes, who is also thought to be orchestrating the sale of Wolves to a Chinese billionaire.

The newspaper suggests that Talisca is impressed by Wolves' ambitions of a speedy return to the Premier League under investment from its new owner.
