Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent has joined SC Freiburg on loan for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.

The 20-year-old winger featured heavily during Liverpool's pre-season campaign, but the club have opted to send the youngster out on a temporary basis in order to continue his development.

Kent has enjoyed previous loan spells at Coventry City and Barnsley, while he has also made one senior appearance for Liverpool.

"Ryan Kent will spend the 2017-18 season on loan at SC Freiburg, Liverpool FC can today confirm," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Academy graduate Kent signed a new long-term contract with the Reds earlier this month and will continue his development at the Schwarzwald-Stadion for the whole of the current campaign."

Kent could make his Freiburg debut at home to Borussia Dortmund after the international break.
