Liverpool will reportedly not make a new signing to replace Adam Lallana this summer with Curtis Jones expected to be promoted to the first team on a full-time basis.
Lallana is widely expected to leave Anfield when his contract expires at the end of June.
However, Football Insider claims that rather than signing a direct replacement for the Englishman, the Reds will instead promote Jones to a more senior position in the squad.
The 19-year-old has scored twice in four FA Cup appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side during the 2019-20 campaign, in addition to featuring twice in the Premier League and twice in the EFL Cup.
Jones has also been in excellent form for Liverpool's Under-23 side this term, providing nine goals and five assists in 14 Premier League 2 appearances.
The England Under-19 international signed a new long-term deal with the European champions last August and is tied to the club until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
