Schalke 04 defender Joel Matip has reportedly agreed to join Liverpool at the end of the season.
Recent speculation had claimed that Jurgen Klopp was eager to secure the Cameroon international's services this month.
However, having bolstered his defensive ranks by signing Steven Caulker on loan from Queens Park Rangers earlier this week, Klopp has now decided to wait until the summer for Matip, according to Sky Sports News.
By then the 24-year-old will be out of contract at the Veltins-Arena, which means that the Merseysiders will not be required to pay a transfer fee for his signature.
