Jurgen Klopp is reportedly willing to give Marko Grujic a chance to prove himself in the first team at Liverpool during their pre-season preparations.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly willing to give Marko Grujic the chance to prove himself in pre-season before making a final decision on his future at the club.

Grujic joined Liverpool in 2016 but has only made 14 appearances for the club since, spending most of his time out on loan.

The 24-year-old has impressed during back-to-back loan spells with Hertha Berlin over the past two seasons, scoring nine goals and creating three more in 54 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

Kicker reports that Klopp will cast an eye over Grujic ahead of the 2020-21 season in order to determine whether he is capable of challenging for a first-team role at the English champions.

The Reds already have a lot of competition for places in midfield, while they have also been heavily linked with a summer bid for Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara.

Should Liverpool decide to offload Grujic again, they are expected to do so on a permanent basis, with Hertha interested in bringing him back to Berlin in a £20m deal.
