Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp once again suggests that the door remains open for Daniel Sturridge after returning from his West Bromwich Albion loan spell.

Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he will not be rushed into making a decision on Daniel Sturridge's future as a Liverpool player.

The England international spent the second half of last season on loan with West Bromwich Albion after falling down the striker pecking order at Anfield.

Sturridge fired a blank during his 45 minutes on the field in Saturday's goalless pre-season friendly against Bury, but Klopp could yet keep the 28-year-old in his squad for the 2018-19 campaign.

"It's funny, this is my third pre-season and every year we talk about the same things," he told reporters at Gigg Lane. "It's no problem. I always said there is a future, it's about what we do in the moment.

"At the moment it's all good and we don't have to make decisions. I don't think about my players like this - like, maybe he's in or out. With the young ones we make these decisions but not with the other guys.

"They show up, and it should be easy for me in the end. The window is still open, right? Is it closing tomorrow? Good."

Marko Grujic and Harry Wilson are expected to go out on loan in the coming weeks, with the former yet to return from World Cup duty.
