Juventus are "watching" Emre Can's contract situation at Liverpool, according to the Italian club's general manager Beppe Marotta.

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has reiterated that Liverpool midfielder Emre Can remains on the club's transfer radar should he not agree a new contract at Anfield.

The Italian champions have been unable to reach an agreement for the permanent signing of Can, who is now into the final 12 months of his existing deal on Merseyside.

Moratta suggested at the weekend that Juve are happy to wait until the New Year before further pursuing their interest in the 23-year-old, at which point he is free to open discussions with European clubs.

Speaking to Calciomercato, the Juve supremo has again stressed that his side remain keen on Can following his impressive start to the 2017-18 campaign.

"Emre Can is a great player," he said. "I don't know if he will extend his contract with Liverpool, but we are at the window, watching what happens."

Germany international Can has four goals and an assist in four outings for Liverpool so far this season.
