Porto midfielder Hector Herrera reportedly turns down the chance to join Liverpool in favour of a move to Napoli.

Porto midfielder Hector Herrera has reportedly snubbed Liverpool in favour of a move to Napoli this summer.

The 26-year-old was rumoured to be on the verge of a switch to Anfield earlier this month after Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp decided to challenge Napoli for his signature.

However, the Mexico international has instead decided to join the Serie A outfit and has now agreed personal terms, according to Fantagazzetta.

The report goes on to state that the clubs have not yet agreed on a fee for the midfielder, though, with Porto holding out for £20m and Napoli reluctant to meet the asking price.

Herrera joined Porto for £8m from Pachuca in 2013.
