Philippe Coutinho will reportedly refuse to play again for Liverpool if the club do not agree a deal with Barcelona.

Philippe Coutinho is reportedly prepared to go on strike for the entire season if Liverpool do not grant him a move to Barcelona.

The 25-year-old is believed to be keen to sign for the Catalan giants, who recently pocketed a reported fee of around £200m when they sold Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer.

Last week, Liverpool released a statement insisting that the playmaker will not be sold, but the Brazilian is trying to force a move after he submitted a transfer request.

It has been widely reported that the Reds have turned down a £72m offer and a bid in the region of £80m from Barcelona, and according to reports in Spain, Coutinho is going to make life difficult for manager Jurgen Klopp.

The former Inter Milan star is prepared to tell Klopp that he will not play a single game for Liverpool this season, even if it hampers his chances of making Brazil's squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Coutinho has missed Liverpool's first two games of the season due to a back injury.
