Emeka Obi appears to be close to officially joining Liverpool from League One side Bury, having altered his social media accounts to all but confirm the switch.

Promising teenage defender Emeka Obi has appeared to confirm his switch from Bury to Liverpool by changing his biography on Twitter.

The 15-year-old, who was made League One's youngest-ever player earlier this season, edited his account to read "Footballer at Liverpool FC".

No confirmation of any impending move has been given by either Bury or Liverpool, but The Bury Times claims that a six-figure deal - including substantial add-ons and a sell-on fee - has been agreed between the two clubs.

It is claimed that visa issues could be behind the delayed announcement due to the Nigerian heritage of Obi, who has also attracted rumoured interest from Stoke City in recent months.
