A report claims that Liverpool are considering offering former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger a short-term deal after allowing the stopper to train with the club.

Liverpool are reportedly considering offering former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger a short-term deal.

The 39-year-old is currently available on a free transfer after leaving German side Augsburg at the end of last season and according to The Mirror, he is currently training with the Anfield club.

The same report claims that head coach Jurgen Klopp will assess the training performances of Manninger before deciding whether to sign the former Juventus stopper as third choice to Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius for the 2016-17 campaign.

Manninger, number two to David Seaman at Arsenal, represented the Gunners between 1997 and 2002 and was part of their double-winning squad in 1998.
