Liverpool are reportedly set to get the green light to play their remaining homes fixtures at Anfield, despite previous fears over mass gatherings outside Anfield.

Premier League chiefs are reportedly confident about Liverpool's chances of being allowed to lift the title at Anfield.

Doubts were raised last week by police chiefs and league chairman Richard Masters over the Reds' prospects of celebrating their 30-year wait for top-flight glory on home soil.

Police are fearful that Liverpool fans will congregate around the club's famous stadium, with the Merseyside outfit requiring a maximum of two wins from nine remaining matches to finish top.

However, The Mirror claims that Merseyside Police have informed Premier League officials that they are positive of staging games in the local area.

A final decision on where each remaining Premier League match will be held is expected to be made by the end of the week.

The Premier League is scheduled to return on June 17, with all matches behind closed doors as a result of the government's ban on large social gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
