Wednesday's Premier League predictions including Brighton vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Wednesday's Premier League matches including Man City vs. Newcastle and Brighton vs. Liverpool.

Manchester City play host to Newcastle United on Wednesday night looking to move closer to securing second place in the Premier League table.

The Magpies make the trip to the Etihad Stadium having put together a six-match unbeaten streak in the top flight, a run which has ensured that Steve Bruce and his side will not face a relegation battle during the closing weeks.

We say: Manchester City 4-1 Newcastle United

Despite Newcastle's good form heading into this contest, there is every expectation that City will produce a positive response from their setback at the weekend. Although Newcastle are performing well enough in attack to get on the scoresheet, they could ship several goals at the other end.

West Ham vs. Burnley (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

West Ham United head into Wednesday night's Premier League clash with Burnley having put together a two-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League, results which have moved the club clear of the relegation zone.

The Clarets make the trip the London Stadium also in productive form having registered seven points from their last three outings.

We say: West Ham United 1-1 Burnley

While Burnley are in a position where they will only be focused on gaining maximum points, West Ham will be relatively content with simply avoiding defeat. Despite there being goals aplenty in their last two contests, the Hammers are capable of earning an uneventful draw on Wednesday.

Sheff Utd vs. Wolves (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Wolverhampton Wanderers visit Sheffield United on Wednesday night looking to hit back from a potentially-crucial defeat to Arsenal, a result which has left the club battling to keep hold of sixth position.

After their 1-1 draw at Burnley on Sunday afternoon, United sit four points adrift of Wolves with five matches remaining.

We say: Sheffield United 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Given what is at stake in a game between two teams who use the same defensive-minded strategy, everything points to this being a low-scoring affair. Although the home side will likely show the greater ambition, Wolves could do enough to earn a share of the spoils.

Brighton vs. Liverpool (Wednesday, 8.15pm)

Liverpool's quest for more Premier League history takes them to the Amex Stadium on Wednesday night as they face Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Reds have already been crowned champions in record time, but now have their sights set on accumulating the most points, wins and biggest winning margin in English top-flight history.

We say: Brighton 0-2 Liverpool

Brighton's win over Norwich last time out was a huge result for them, effectively lifting them to within touching distance of Premier League safety, and so they could subconsciously take their foot off the pedal for this one.

Liverpool, meanwhile, were far from their best against Aston Villa but still got the job done, and it could be a similar story here. We are backing the visitors to end their away drought and edge closer to those impressive records.
