James Milner says that it is an "exciting time" to be at Liverpool following their dramatic Europa League quarter-final win over Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has claimed that it is an "exciting time" to be at the club following the team's dramatic win over Borussia Dortmund in last night's Europa League quarter-final.

The Reds were 3-1 down in the second half, needing three goals to secure passage into the semi-finals.

Within half an hour, Philippe Coutinho and Mamadou Sakho pulled Liverpool back level and in the 91st minute, Dejan Lovren headed home the winner to claim a 5-4 win on aggregate.

"I have said at times this year that I don't think there is that belief there - that the boys don't really believe how good they are," Milner told the Liverpool Echo. "It is a young team and sometimes we struggle for consistency.

"But to beat a team like Dortmund and to come back the way we did and going this far in a major European competition is obviously massive. With the team spirit and quality we have it is an exciting time to be at the club."

Liverpool will take on Villarreal in the semi-finals.
