Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is to serve a three-match ban after an appeal against length of his suspension for the red card awarded to him against Manchester City was rejected.
The Senegal international was sent off in the first half of Saturday's Premier League meeting with Manchester City at the weekend, which the Reds went on to lose 5-0.
Mane caught opposition keeper Ederson in the face with a high foot, causing a debate as to whether a yellow card or a red card was the right level of punishment.
Liverpool had hoped to see the duration of the ban reduced by one or two games, but the Football Association have upheld their decision and the 25-year-old will now miss his side's next three games.
