Liverpool to hold crisis meeting after Luis Suarez bite?

Liverpool call a crisis meeting at which they may decide against supporting Luis Suarez following the striker's latest biting controversy at the World Cup in Brazil.

Liverpool have called an urgent Wednesday meeting at which they are expected to decide against supporting Luis Suarez following the striker's latest biting scandal.

Suarez seemed to be caught sinking his teeth into Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's 1-0 win over Italy on Tuesday, which saw them reach the World Cup last 16.

However, the Reds forward is unlikely to take any further part in the tournament after FIFA confirmed that they would investigate the incident, his third of such a kind during his professional career.

Anfield bosses are unaware whether any ban imposed on Suarez would have implications on his club availability, but The Mirror claims that the Liverpool hierarchy may have finally ran out of patience with him anyway.

The Merseyside outfit have been criticised for defending the 27-year-old amid previous biting and racism controversies, and are worried that more ignominy would do too much to taint their reputation.

Liverpool officials are reportedly refusing to comment until they gather full information on the incident in Brazil, and will apparently speak to manager Brendan Rodgers before deciding on their stance.
