Jurgen Klopp provides a blunt response when asked why Liverpool's assistant manager Zeljko Buvac - his right-hand man for 17 years - has stepped down from his position.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has refused to elaborate on the reasons behind the surprise departure of right-hand man Zeljko Buvac.

The Reds announced on Monday that their assistant boss has stepped down from his position with immediate effect due to "personal reasons".

Reports in Buvac's native Bosnia have since emerged suggesting that he has agreed to take over as Arsenal manager in a shock development.

Amid separate claims of a falling-out behind the scenes, Klopp decided against going into detail when asked why the man he has worked alongside for 17 years has now gone in a different direction.

Speaking at his pre-match presser ahead of Wednesday's meeting with Roma, the German told reporters: "We gave a club statement on that and that's all we're saying at the moment."

Buvac has worked with Klopp at Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.
