Jurgen Klopp has played down suggestions that he could be enticed into leaving Liverpool by Bayern Munich.

Klopp recently led his team past Bayern in the last-16 stage of the Champions League, with the Reds running out 3-1 winners in the second leg of their tie at the Allianz Arena last week.

After the match, former Bayern boss Franz Beckenbauer claimed that Klopp would be an ideal choice to manage the German giants in the future, but the Liverpool head coach has said that he still has a lot to do at Anfield.

"Someone told me what Franz said after the game. It doesn't put pressure on me. I am blessed that I have known him for 14 years. Knowing him is something quite special," The Telegraph quotes Klopp as saying.

"We are friends, even if we don't talk a lot, but I am not surprised that he said positive things about me. When he always speaks about me, he speaks positively. It is just like the king knighting a man 'Sir'. There is no bigger football legend in Germany than Franz Beckenbauer. It is great.

"It is a compliment to Liverpool, but Bayern have done most things right in the last 10 or 15 years without making many mistakes. Hopefully in 50 or 60 years, I will be remembered without referring to managing many different clubs. I am happy with the clubs I've had now.

"Liverpool is a really good fit for me. I love it. There are a lot of opportunities to develop an already really good football team. So let's work and try to make the most of it."

Klopp arrived at Anfield in 2015 but is still searching for his first piece of silverware.

Liverpool, who will face Porto in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, are back in Premier League action away to Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
