Jurgen Klopp gives Marko Grujic some thinly-veiled praise following his debut against Fleetwood Town - a match that saw the Liverpool youngster bag his first goal.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that there is still plenty of room for improvement but is happy with what he has seen from new recruit Marko Grujic.

The 20-year-old won a penalty and scored a goal of his own in Wednesday evening's 5-0 win over Fleetwood Town - his first appearance for the Reds.

Grujic, who was loaned straight back to Red Star Belgrade after joining in January, earned some post-match praise of sorts from his manager following the one-sided affair at Highbury Stadium, as did fellow rookie Kevin Stewart.

"[Grujic] is still a young lad - he is 19 years old and that means there is a lot to develop physically and, of course, in the football parts," he told reporters.

"But it was absolutely okay. Then you saw defending together in a little triangle with Kev Stewart - in the end, Kev Stewart made all the work and the other boys were in the half spaces.

"That's okay, it's no problem, but they have to learn and they have to improve, of course. They all can play football, that's really good to see. He scored a goal in his first game in the first situation - it's a dream."

Next up for Liverpool is a friendly with Wigan Athletic next Sunday, before a meeting with Huddersfield Town three days later.
