Rennes midfielder Benjamin Andre, a reported target for Liverpool, reaffirms his desire to succeed with the Ligue 1 club.

Rennes midfielder Benjamin Andre has reiterated his desire to succeed with the Ligue 1 club.

Andre has recently emerged as a transfer target for Liverpool, who are reportedly preparing a £17m bid for the 27-year-old.

However the Frenchman, who only signed a new five-year contract at Roazhon Park in June, insists that he is only focused on his future at Rennes.

Andre is quoted by The Express as saying: "There is a project here that everyone knows. I was at one point in my career where I had to make decisions, I had one year left.

"There were other options but [the fact] I am no longer the youngster made me want to continue with the Rennes. [I want] to go as high as possible [with Rennes this season]."

Andre has been at Rennes for the past four years, scoring two goals and providing five assists in 99 appearances since joining from AC Ajaccio.
