Tottenham Hotspur have recorded a 4-1 victory over Liverpool in Sunday afternoon's Premier League clash at Wembley Stadium.

Harry Kane netted during the early stages of both the first and second halves, with Son Heung-min and Dele Alli also getting on the scoresheet inside the opening hour.

At one stage, Mohamed Salah had halved the deficit for the visitors, but Jurgen Klopp's side were well beaten and now sit in ninth place in the standings.

3.00pmHello and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the match in the Premier League between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. Spurs have had their struggles at Wembley Stadium and Liverpool keep dropping points in the league, but both teams head into this match on the back of excellent results in Europe, so who have Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp gone for today? Let's find out...

3.03pmTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR XI: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Aurier, Winks, Dele, Eriksen, Son, Kane

3.04pmLIVERPOOL XI: Mignolet, Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Moreno, Henderson, Milner, Can, Salah, Coutinho, Firmino

3.07pmFirst of all, let's take a look at Spurs, with Pochettino naming what looks to be an extremely offensive side with Son Heung-min coming into the team in place of Eric Dier. It means that the South Korean, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Harry Kane all feature.

3.11pmAs for Liverpool, Klopp is forced to make a change to his midfield with Georginio Wijnaldum missing out with a knee injury. It means that James Milner is able to keep his place after impressing against Maribor in the Champions League. Joe Gomez also returns to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

3.14pmTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR SUBSTITUTES: Vorm, Rose, Davies, Dier, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Llorente

3.16pmLIVERPOOL SUBSTITUTES: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Klavan, Grujic, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solanke, Sturridge

3.25pmRESULT! The full-time whistle has just gone at Goodison Park and after a late flurry of goals, Arsenal have thrashed Everton by a 5-2 scoreline. At 2-1, the Toffees had Gueye sent off and it was one-way traffic from there. That could be the end of Ronald Koeman's reign at Everton.

3.29pmWe feel obliged to begin our look at Spurs with man-of-the-moment Harry Kane but the 24-year-old has not scored for the North Londoners in 239 minutes. It's difficult to criticise a player who has netted 15 goals in 15 games for club and country this season, but a second goal drought of the season is starting to emerge.

3.31pmThe same can be said of games at Wembley. Kane is yet to score a Premier League goal at the club's temporary home, with 28 shots on goal not paying off. The forward scored twice in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund, but he will want to end what is a growing run in the top flight.

3.33pmHowever, for all their so-called troubles at Wembley, Spurs have only failed to score once in their six games at the National Stadium this season, which came against Swansea City in the middle of September. Spurs have also only scored two or more goals on one occasion during that period, but chances are being created and it will surely only be a matter of time before they hit form in the final third.

3.35pmThere can be no complaints with how Spurs are performing at the back. In 12 games in all competitions, two or more goals have been conceded in just two games - in derbies against Chelsea and West Ham United. Seven clean sheets have been registered during that same period.

3.37pmTurning our attention to Liverpool now, and with Lallana and Mane absent, Coutinho is going to have to continue his high-level displays on the road. The Brazilian has contributed four goals and three assists in his last four outings away from Anfield.

3.39pmKlopp may have to rely on the playmaker to ensure that Liverpool maintain what has to be deemed as an impressive achievement since his reign began in October 2015. Liverpool have never failed to score in back-to-back Premier League fixtures under the German.

3.42pmLiverpool also have their work cut out to stop themselves becoming the sixth team to concede 1,000 goals in the Premier League. The Merseyside giants are currently sitting on 998.

3.44pmLast weekend, Liverpool didn't really have their work cut out when facing a defensive-minded Manchester United but given all the talk about a weak backline, Liverpool have conceded just two goals in games against Spartak Moscow, Newcastle United, United and Maribor. Three of those fixtures have been on the road, too.

3.47pmPREDICTION! We would like to think that this game will be open. Both teams are very capable of contributing to a free-scoring contest. However, Spurs have one of the best defences in the league - as well as one of the best strikers in the world - and we are backing the North London outfit to run out 3-1 victors.

3.49pmHEAD TO HEAD! Today's match represents the 169th time in which these two teams have faced each other in a competitive contest, with Liverpool winning 80 times in comparison to 47 victories for Spurs. That record is more one-sided in recent years - Spurs haven't prevailed in any of the last 10 games!

3.51pmSpurs' last triumph came all the way back in November 2012 when the North Londoners won 2-1 at White Hart Lane thanks to goals from Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale. Looking at the two squads from that game, only four players remain at their respective clubs - Lloris, Vertonghen, Dembele and Henderson.

3.54pmSpurs have lost seven of the last 10 matches between the sides, as well as the most recent two matches, but there were three draws in a row between October 2015 and August 2016. The last encounter came back in February when a Mane double earned Liverpool a 2-0 win.

3.58pmThe teams have made their way out at Wembley. We are just about ready to get started.

1 minKICKOFF! Liverpool get us underway in North London.

2 minThe atmosphere at some of Spurs' matches at Wembley has been criticised but the home supporters are in fine voice. Both sets of fans can acknowledged that this is a big game in terms of the rest of their season.

4 minGOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Liverpool (Harry Kane)

4 minThat goal drought of Kane's is over now! The forward latches on to a ball over the top from Trippier and after rounding Mignolet, the 24-year-old's effort is bundled over the line despite the attention of two Liverpool defenders.

7 minIt's been a dream start from Spurs, but Liverpool have also settled into this game. They are not lacking in confidence in spraying the ball about during these early stages.

9 minThat Kane goal remains the only chance of this game. Liverpool are taking the patient approach to trying to get back into this match and it is probably wise given the pace and creativity in the Spurs attack.

11 minThis is much more ambitious from Liverpool with Coutinho playing in Moreno for the cross, but the ball evades everyone and Spurs are able to build again...

12 minGOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Liverpool (Son Heung-min)

12 minWembley hoodoo? You can forget that. Spurs double their lead through Son, who volleys home from 12 yards out after a wonderful pass from Kane, who forced Lovren into a mistake on the halfway line.

14 minSpurs won't think that this game is already won, but it will take some comeback from Liverpool to change the end result. Liverpool look fine in possession but the direct approach of Spurs has twice caught the visitors out.

17 minWOODWORK! Liverpool are at sixes and sevens and almost three behind. Eriksen's ball over the top finds Son, who sends a volley against the underside of the crossbar! If you were taking notice of our build-up, you will know that Liverpool have now conceded 1,000 goals in the Premier League.

19 minSon and Kane are tearing Liverpool's defence to shreds. Son has a chance to play in Kane for a probable third, but the pass is poor and Matip intercepts.

21 minNeither Salah or Firmino have had a kick. Spurs are in control and this could be anything. Can has just taken out his frustration with a 30-yard effort which was always going off target.

23 minLiverpool had only conceded two goals in four games before this match. It doesn't take much for the Merseyside giants to capitulate. They are being over-run all over the pitch.

24 minGOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Liverpool (Mohamed Salah)

24 minCompletely against the run of play, Liverpool have halved the deficit! Kane loses the ball in midfield, Henderson plays a dream pass through to Salah and the Egyptian outpaces the defence before scuffing the ball past Lloris and in off the post. We still have a game on here.

26 minIt looks like we are going to have a change. Lovren appears to be struggling and Oxlade-Chamberlain is being readied.

28 minFull credit to Liverpool. Spurs are becoming more shaky and Liverpool are looking to take advantage. A searching pass from Coutinho finds Salah but the winger is never going to score with a header from an acute angle.

29 minCHANCE! Now Spurs should be 3-1 up! Son is played in behind the defence but the South Korean pokes the ball too close to Mignolet, who saves with his legs.

30 minLovren is struggling but the centre-back does superbly to block from Kane, who is set to score from 10 yards out. Big moment, potentially.

32 minSUBSTITUTION! Liverpool finally make the change, with Oxlade-Chamberlain replacing Milner. Oxlade-Chamberlain goes into midfield, Milner to right-back and Gomez to centre-back.

33 minSalah is torturing Aurier on the right flank. The Ivorian has no idea how to deal with him, seeing as though he can barely get near the winger. Salah beat Aurier on this occasion, before crossing straight into the hands of Lloris.

33 minIt's Can who has gone to right-back, not Milner.

35 minThere are only 10 minutes to go in this half. Where has the time gone? Liverpool are having the better of it right now but the visitors are still adapting to the substitution. Coutinho has come in-field.

37 minSHOT! Kane's close control is brilliant at times and the forward shrugs off a couple of defenders here before dragging a low strike wide of Mignolet's near post.

39 minWhat a header this is from Trippier. Milner's cross is heading towards Firmino at the back post until the wing-back gets back to head behind for a corner.

40 minLiverpool are wrongly awarded a second corner but the visitors make a mess of it after playing it short. The referee will be relieved.

42 minSpurs need half time. Liverpool are pressing and pressing, and it is only leading to Spurs getting deeper. Moreno is effectively a left winger.

44 minMilner goes in late on Alli and the Liverpool player is fortunate to avoid a yellow card. However, Spurs get the free kick they needed to slow down play.

45 minThere will be two minutes of added-on time.

45+2 minBOOKING! Can goes into the book after fouling Alli soon after losing the ball. The German has no complaints.

45+3 minGOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Liverpool (Dele Alli)

45+3 minWhat a time to score for Spurs! The free kick is only half cleared by Matip and Alli fires a volley into the bottom corner from 14 yards.

45+4 minHALF TIME: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Liverpool

4.51pmThe half-time whistle goes at Wembley and that goal has turned the game heavily in Spurs' favour. Liverpool had been the better side heading into the break - despite being behind - but Alli's volley has given the North Londoners a clear cushion.

5.04pmThe teams have made their way back out at Wembley. There have been no changes from either side.

46 minKICKOFF! Spurs get us back underway.

47 minLiverpool have started very much on the front foot but after plenty of probing in and around the penalty area, Lloris is able to punch a Salah cross clear of danger.

49 minSpurs have come straight back at the visitors with a spell of sustained possession in the Liverpool half. It's not threatening a fourth goal but it's enough to stop Liverpool in their tracks.

51 minCHANCE! It's only half a chance but Kane beats a Liverpool defender to glance a header wide from a corner. That would definitely have been game over.

53 minSpurs are always alert to the possibility of a counter-attack and there is a suggestion that it could be the undoing of Liverpool. They are pushing for a second goal - as they need to - but the home side are primed to take advantage of the extra space.

55 minKane is all over the Liverpool defence and the forward puts himself about to earn a free kick on the right flank. The 24-year-old has been superb.

56 minGOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 Liverpool (Harry Kane)

56 minIt's game over now. Mignolet fails to deal with a free kick and although Firmino makes an excellent block to deny Vertonghen, the ball falls to Kane to fire the ball into the net from close range.

58 minLiverpool are back in possession but they are simply playing for pride now. They have had their moments in the final third, but the visitors are utterly woeful at the back.

61 minIt can only be a matter of time before Klopp makes more changes, even if it is to rest players for a later date. Few players have done themselves justice today.

63 minSanchez's eyes light up when he gets the chance to volley on goal from inside the penalty area, but the defender snatches at the opportunity and Liverpool eventually clear for a corner.

64 minRECORD! A new Premier League attendance record has been set with 80,827 fans at today's game.

66 minSHOT! Moments after Kane's goalbound effort is blocked, Oxlade-Chamberlain has a chance at the other end but his left-footed strike is always going well wide of Lloris's post.

67 minWOODWORK! Lloris likes pulling off good saves. This one isn't as dramatic as the one from Benzema earlier in the week but it's not far off. Coutinho thinks he has scored with a shot towards the top corner from 20 yards but Lloris flung out a hand to diver the ball onto the post.

69 minSUBSTITUTION! A first Spurs change sees Sissoko replace Son, who has been excellent.

71 minWe are into the final 20 minutes at Wembley. This is easy work for Spurs now.

72 minSHOT! Milner is played in down the right-hand side of the penalty area but the midfielder attempts to score from close to the byline and Lloris saves comfortably enough.

73 minSHOT! Coutinho tries to take things on himself but after twisting and turning on the edge of the box, the Brazilian curls the ball too close to Lloris.

77 minSUBSTITUTION! Klopp decides to hand a rest to Firmino, who has had little impact on the game. Sturridge has been introduced.

78 minCHANCE! Liverpool haven't given up. Oxlade-Chamberlain has just done well to reach the byline before setting up Salah, but Lloris was equal to the winger's first-time effort.

81 minSUBSTITUTION! Dier was left out due to illness but the Englishman is still going to get nine minutes plus added-on time. Off comes Eriksen.

83 minSUBSTITUTION! It's a rare appearance for Marko Grujic, who replaces Can.

85 minJust the five minutes to go in North London and a lot of fans are already making their way to the exits. This game is over as a contest. Liverpool continue to press, but Spurs are holding firm.

88 minSUBSTITUTION! This is a worry for Spurs. Kane is limping off after suffering what appears to be a hamstring problem. He is walking off without attention but it's a concern ahead of the game with Manchester United next week. Llorente is on in his place.

90 minThere will be two minutes of added-on time.

90+2 minFULL TIME: Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 Liverpool

5.57pmThe full-time whistle goes at Wembley Stadium and Spurs have completed a 4-1 win over Liverpool. The home side were excellent from start to finish and although Liverpool had their moments, there is little doubting that the North Londoners deserved their win. They now only sit in third place on goal difference, while Liverpool are down to ninth.

5.59pmThat will be all from Sports Mole for this game. Thank you for joining us this afternoon and we hope to see you again soon.
