Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that he was disappointed with his team's reaction to Sevilla's equaliser in the Europa League final in Basel.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that his side must learn from their second-half performance in the 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final.

The Premier League club held a 1-0 lead at the break thanks to Daniel Sturridge but after conceding 18 seconds after the restart, Liverpool failed to trouble their Spanish opponents and Sevilla were able to coast to victory.

After the game, Klopp acknowledged that Sevilla's equaliser had been the turning point in the contest in Basel but the German feels that his team can use the experience to their advantage next season.

The 48-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "At this moment we lost faith in our style of play, we changed from passing quick and simple to complicated, and lost our formation.

"It was not compact anymore. I tried to change it, but you could see that maybe the team was shocked, maybe the crowd was shocked.

"It is not good to concede a goal straight after half time but you have 44 minutes to strike back and the reaction was the problem. We have to learn to react better in situations like this."

Defeat for Liverpool means that they will not compete in Europe during the next campaign.
