Slovakia defender Martin Skrtel warns that Wales have threats beyond star man Gareth Bale ahead of their Euro 2016 opener.

Slovakia defender Martin Skrtel has insisted that Wales are more than a one-man team ahead of their Euro 2016 clash on Saturday.

Star player Gareth Bale was directly involved in nine of Wales's 11 goals during qualifying for the tournament, and their hopes of success in France are widely accepted to rest mainly on his shoulders.

However, while Skrtel acknowledged that the Real Madrid man is a "world-class" talent, he insists that Wales have a number of other players who can pose a threat to his side.

"Of course Bale is world class, but it is not only him, the Wales team is not only Bale. There are more players, a lot of individuals, so we will have to watch them all and analyse their game. I believe that we will be ready," he told reporters.

"Everybody knows Bale, I have my Liverpool teammate Joe [Allen], there's [Aaron] Ramsey from Arsenal, so I think that they are all really good players. They play in the Premier League which is a sign that they are really good, and they have already proved that by qualifying.

"The first match is important and it can tell you a lot, so I believe that we will do well in the first match and make a better start to the tournament than Wales."

Slovakia will also face Russia and England in Group B at this summer's tournament.
