Georginio Wijnaldum admits that Liverpool face "a big challenge" when they take on Real Madrid, but is confident of ending Los Blancos' European dominance.

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has declared that his side "have a big chance" of winning the Champions League, especially if Mohamed Salah is in full flow.

The Reds have just one more hurdle to overcome on their quest to lift the European Cup for a sixth time, as they prepare to take on holders Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday.

Both teams have in-form forwards in their ranks, with Cristiano Ronaldo finding his feet in the second half of the campaign and Salah netting a record number of goals in the Premier League.

Wijnaldum hopes that his Egyptian teammate can propel Liverpool to glory on the continent, but concedes that it will be a tough task against the back-to-back winners of the competition.

"Mo has been incredible this season. The way he has scored goals has been unbelievable, not only for him, but also for us and the supporters - everybody who witnessed it," he told ESPN.

"What he did this season in the Premier League was unbelievable and I really hope he can do it in the final, and take his form from the Premier League and what he has done in the Champions League into the final, because it will help us and give us a bigger chance to win it.

"We are playing against a team with a lot of confidence. They have already won it two years in a row, so they know how to manage a final and have experience of a final.

"It will be difficult and it will be a big challenge, but we always have confidence. The way we came to the final - the results we had, the way we were playing - we also have confidence. If we play the way that we normally play, we have a big chance to win it."

Wijnaldum is in contention to start this weekend's final due to a number of midfield injury concerns for Jurgen Klopp's men.
