Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson: 'Manchester City have weaknesses'

Robertson: 'Man City have weaknesses'

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson claims that Manchester City showed their "weaknesses" when the Merseyside giants ran out 4-3 winners at Anfield in January.

Defender Andrew Robertson has admitted that Liverpool took confidence from scoring three quick goals against Manchester City earlier this season.

In January, the Reds ran out 4-3 winners over the Premier League leaders, and that remains the only defeat that Pep Guardiola's side have suffered in the top flight during the current campaign.

Robertson has acknowledged that Liverpool were far from perfect during that game, but says that the result gives the club belief ahead of the Champions League quarter-final tie between the two clubs.

The 24-year-old told the club's official website: "It doesn't get much harder than Man City, arguably one of the best teams in Europe just now.

"But we managed to get the better of them at Anfield a couple of months ago and if we can take anything out of that performance then we managed to show their weaknesses, especially in that 10 minutes when we scored three goals.

"They also showed our weaknesses by scoring three goals, which obviously we weren't happy with and in a two-legged tie that might not have been good enough."

The first leg of the last-eight clash takes place at Anfield on Wednesday night, with the reverse fixture coming at the Etihad Stadium on April 10.
