Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp acknowledges that his side need to be more clinical in front of goal following their 1-1 draw with Spartak Moscow.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged that his side need to be more clinical in front of goal having been held to a 1-1 draw by Spartak Moscow in the Champions League this evening.

The Reds created a string of chances in Russia, but failed to add to Philippe Coutinho's equaliser shortly after the hour mark as they made it back-to-back draws to kick off their Champions League group stage campaign.

Klopp insists that he has no issue with the effort his side put in, but admitted that they need to be more ruthless in the final third if they are to put teams away.

"It was a crazy game. To create all those chances and only score one goal feels average," he told BT Sport.

"What can I say? We created, created and created. Where is the real point for criticism? We tried with all we had. The effort was great.

"We have to be more clinical 100% for sure. The only way to change it is to do it again."

Liverpool have now failed to win any of their last seven matches in the Champions League proper - their longest ever winless run in the competition.
