Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare says that he wants to keep winger Demarai Gray - a target for Everton - at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare has said that Demarai Gray can have a "big future" at the King Power Stadium.

After making just nine starts in the Premier League last season, Gray has been linked with a move away from the club and Everton are said to be keen on a summer move.

However, Shakespeare has called on the England Under-21 international to remain in the East Midlands ahead of the new campaign.

The 53-year-old told Sky Sports News: "He's definitely still wanted. He's a player with great potential.

"I've had numerous conversations over the last four months with Demarai about being patient. I understand that sometimes that can just be words and they need to playing but he has a big future to be played here."

Gray has been with Leicester since January 2016, but just 16 of his 55 appearances have come from the starting lineup.

Sevilla's midfielder Iborra celebrates after scoring a goal during the Spanish league football match RC Deportivo de la Coruna vs Sevilla FC at the Municipal de Riazor stadium in La Coruna on December 5, 2015. The match ended with a 1-1 draw.
