The Foxes ran out 1-0 winners at Chelsea on Saturday.

Claude Puel has told Leicester to go and "create another upset" against Manchester City following Saturday's surprise win at Chelsea.

The Foxes stunned Chelsea with a 1-0 Premier League win at Stamford Bridge that came courtesy of a smart Jamie Vardy finish.

Puel's men will host City on Boxing Day, facing the champions at the King Power Stadium for the second time in eight days.

Leicester held Pep Guardiola's men to a 1-1 Carabao Cup quarter-final draw before exiting on penalties on December 18 – and now Puel has demanded another battling performance.

"Our last game against City was encouraging, about our mentality, about our play and possibility," said Puel.

"We lost on the lottery of penalties, we didn't manage very well this exercise, I know. On the pitch it was interesting.

"We will see our game. If we have the ability to repeat three days after a tough game against also a good team.

"It will be another fantastic challenge and we need to create another upset."

Puel has also warned his players to expect a fierce backlash from City following their shock 3-2 home loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

"We will play Manchester City after a loss; it will be tough," said Puel.

"All the time they can have two players for any position.

"Fantastic players all the time, with the same way of playing, the same ability.

"We will see the starting players for us, because we worked a lot today, three days after. We need to have all the good performances to give, but also a lot of work to give.

"It will be, I think and I hope, a similar game, like the League Cup game. We played well, with a very good second half with character and quality.

"I hope we can compete against this team with the same values, the same mentality.

"It's important to recover, of course, because it was a strong game (against Chelsea). With the win, we will find energy in our recovery."

Former England striker Vardy, 31, put previous groin injury issues to bed with his tidy goal at Chelsea, leaving Puel delighted.

"He showed it was behind him, this injury," said Puel.

"We managed him to try to keep him match fit, with all his possibilities, his attributes. He can play now at his best. That's the most important thing.

"It's important to manage our players. We have a busy period, a tough game to prepare for; an exciting game.

"It's important to manage all the team and to take some decisions. Jamie showed his quality in his comeback. He's fantastic."
