Nigel Pearson is appointed as manager of Belgian side OH Leuven, who are owned by the Srivaddhanaprabha family.

Former Leicester City and Derby County boss Nigel Pearson has been appointed as the new head coach of Belgian second-tier side OH Leuven.

The 54-year-old has been out of work since leaving Derby in October 2016 following a disappointing five-month spell in charge at Pride Park.

Pearson had previously spent time with Leicester, helping to form the squad that would go on to shock football by winning the Premier League title, but he was sacked by the Srivaddhanaprabha family a year before Claudio Ranieri took the Foxes to the top.

Leuven have now revealed that Pearson will once again work with the Thai billionaires, however, as he has been placed in charge at the Den Dreef Stadium.

OHL are currently fourth in the eight-team Belgian First Division B, five points adrift of leaders Beerschot Wilrijk.
