Marc Albrighton: 'No pressure on Leicester City'

Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton claims that the pressure was much greater when his side were facing relegation last season than it is chasing the title this term.

Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton has claimed that there is no pressure on his side as they edge closer to their first ever top-flight title.

The Foxes sat bottom of the Premier League table 12 months ago, but now find themselves seven points clear at the top of the pile with only six games of the season remaining.

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are hoping for a slip-up on the home straight, but Albrighton believes that the pressure was much greater when faced with the threat of relegation last term.

"Last season was totally different, we did feel a lot more pressure last season. This season we don't really feel any pressure, I can't see that there's any on us," he is quoted as saying by PA.

"We're in a position where no-one was expecting us to be so no matter where we finish now, and don't get me wrong if we don't go on now and achieve something it's going to be disappointing, but even the lowest position we could finish if we lost all our remaining games would still be a massive achievement and fantastic for us.

"Of course we're aiming for the top and if we can achieve that then fantastic. We'll just continue to do everything that's got us here. I think if we keep doing that we won't go too far wrong. It's got us in a great position and if we continue to do that and take each game as it comes then, as I say, we won't go too far wrong."

Leicester take on relegation-threatened Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in their next match.
