Leeds United are reportedly on the brink of completing the signing of Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente.

Leeds United are reportedly at an advanced stage in negotiations for Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente.

Despite impressing during their opening two Premier League fixtures, Leeds have conceded seven goals in their meetings with Liverpool and Fulham.

That has led to head coach Marcelo Bielsa switching his attention to strengthening a backline that is missing the presence of previous Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Ben White.

According to Sky Sports News, the Yorkshire giants have reportedly made headway in an effort to sign Spain international Llorente.

The 27-year-old has spent the last three seasons at Sociedad, making 78 appearances for the club in La Liga.

If a deal is finalised over the coming days, it would take Leeds' spending during the summer transfer window to well in excess of £50m.
