Carpi president Stefano Bonacini: 'Jerry Mbakogu should join Leeds United'

Carpi president Stefano Bonacini says that forward Jerry Mbakogu should take the opportunity to join Leeds United this summer.

Carpi president Stefano Bonacini has encouraged Jerry Mbakogu to complete a move to Leeds United.

Earlier this season, the Championship outfit failed to seal a deal for the Nigerian attacker but it now appears that an agreement is in place between the two clubs.

Mbakogu has scored six times in 25 outings in Serie B this season, but Bonacini has suggested that he would like to see the player make the switch to Elland Road.

Bonacini told RMC Sport Network: "Mbakogu should go to Leeds. He deserves a chance on an important stage – the second tier in England is not the Italian Serie B.

"He is ready to have an adventure in England."

A fee of £4m has previously been mentioned for Leeds to finalise the transfer.
