Vinnie Jones: 'Leeds need a dirty dozen'
Former Leeds United midfielder Vinnie Jones says that the club need a "dirty dozen" of experienced players in the squad in order to push for promotion.

Former Leeds United midfielder Vinnie Jones has said that the club need a "dirty dozen" of experienced players in the squad in order to push for promotion from the Championship.

The Elland Road club, who extended their winless run in all competitions to seven games with a defeat to Cardiff City, replaced former manager Thomas Christiansen with Paul Heckingbottom on Tuesday.

Jones, who also featured for Chelsea during his career, told The Sun that he would sign the likes of James Milner if he took charge of the Whites.

"I know what I would do there, I've always said it," he said. "I'd get all the seasoned pros in, pros that have been there and done that. I was thinking last night, listening to the Liverpool game - James Milner.

"People like Milner who could come in, they are still great athletes and the rest of it, I think to really get out of that league you need that. It's one of the hardest leagues out there. To get out of it is unbelievable.

"You need a dirty dozen, I call them the dirty dozen, some experienced pros in there. And I would bring the youngsters on in that group for the next season."

Leeds sit 10th in the table, seven points adrift of the playoff places.
