Championship week 32 predictions including Brentford vs. Leeds

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all 12 of the midweek Championship fixtures, including Brentford vs. Leeds.

Barnsley vs. Birmingham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Birmingham boss Pep Clotet on February 1, 2020© Reuters

Birmingham City will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to six matches when they travel to struggling Barnsley on Tuesday night.

The Blues beat Bristol City on Friday to move into 15th spot in the table, but Barnsley remain inside the relegation zone despite holding Sheffield Wednesday to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

We say: Barnsley 1-2 Birmingham

Both sides will enter this match off the back of positive results, but Birmingham are certainly in the better form overall. The visitors will fancy their chances of putting another three points on the board, and we are finding it difficult to look past the Blues in Tuesday night's affair.

Blackburn vs. Hull (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Hull City's search for their first Championship win since New Year's Day will continue on Tuesday night when they travel to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers.

The Tigers are currently 14th in the Championship table on 40 points, while Blackburn sit two positions and four points above their opponents in this match.

We say: Blackburn 1-1 Hull

This is a tough match to call as the league table suggests that there is not too much between the sides. Both managers will feel that they can harm the opposition in the final third of the field, but we are finding it difficult to separate them over the course of the 90 minutes.

Brentford vs. Leeds (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Brentford play host to Leeds United at Griffin Park on Tuesday night with the opportunity to move ahead of their second-placed opponents in the Championship standings.

Leeds make the trip to London knowing that only maximum points will do if they want to ensure that they remain in the automatic promotion places.

We say: Brentford 3-1 Leeds United

Unless Bielsa changes his stance regarding alterations, we cannot see anything other than a Brentford win. The Bees had to fight until the final whistle to see off Middlesbrough, but momentum can be everything to teams looking to close down rivals who sit above them in the table.

Nottm Forest vs. Charlton (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi on February 1, 2020© Reuters

Nottingham Forest welcome Charlton Athletic to the City Ground knowing that victory could be enough to take the club into the top two of the Championship standings.

Meanwhile, Charlton travel to the East Midlands sitting in 21st position, just four points above the relegation zone.

We say: Nottingham Forest 3-1 Charlton Athletic

After an intense meeting with Leeds at the weekend, Forest may find it difficult to replicate such a performance against lowly opponents. However, the home side should have enough quality in their ranks to get the better of the Addicks.

Swansea vs. QPR (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Swansea City take on Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night knowing that they require maximum points to get back into the Championship playoff picture.

As for the visitors, three successive defeats has heaped pressure on Mark Warburton, whose team are now just nine points above the relegation zone.

We say: Swansea City 3-1 Queens Park Rangers

After the disappointment of letting a slip a lead against Derby, a quick turnaround should benefit Swansea, who we feel will be motivated to put on a professional showing against opponents who they may feel are there for the taking.

Wigan vs. Middlesbrough (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Wigan Athletic will be looking to drag Middlesbrough into the Championship relegation mix when the two teams lock horns at the DW Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Latics are currently 22nd in the table, four points from the safety of 21st position, while Boro sit in 18th spot, seven points clear of their opponents in this match.

We say: Wigan 1-1 Middlesbrough

The desire not to lose this contest could create a cagey and tight affair at the DW Stadium. Wigan will enter the match in the better form, but we fancy Boro to pick up something for their efforts on Tuesday night.

Bristol City vs. Derby (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Bristol City play host to Derby County on Wednesday night looking to return to winning ways after suffering a surprise defeat at home to Birmingham City last week.

Meanwhile, Derby make the trip to Ashton Gate sitting just seven points adrift of the Championship playoffs after an improved run of form.

We say: Bristol City 2-2 Derby County

While Johnson's side will be motivated to get back on track, it is difficult to write off a Derby team who are now starting to live up to their potential. With those factors in mind, we feel that the two clubs could play out an entertaining draw.

Huddersfield vs. Cardiff (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Cardiff boss Neil Harris on February 8, 2020© Reuters

Cardiff City travel to the John Smith's Stadium to face Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night having moved to within four points of the Championship playoffs.

As for the Terriers, two victories from three matches have helped established a six-point gap above the relegation zone.

We say: Huddersfield Town 2-1 Cardiff City

Having put together a lengthy undefeated streak, Cardiff will fancy their chances of picking up more points on their travels. However, Huddersfield have also started to show their quality, and we feel that home advantage could prove crucial on Wednesday.

Luton vs. Sheffield Wednesday (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Luton Town boss Graeme Jones on February 1, 2020© Reuters

Sheffield Wednesday will look to end a run of four Championship matches without a win on Wednesday when they face the division's bottom side Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters have lost their last two league fixtures and sit nine points adrift of safety, while the Owls are still just six points below the playoffs.

We say: Luton Town 0-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday may have been struggling for form of late but they should still have enough to overcome a Luton side in freefall. With the Owls still in contention for a playoff push, expect their quality to show at Kenilworth Road.

Millwall vs. Fulham (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Fulham boss Scott Parker on February 1, 2020© Reuters

Millwall host Fulham in the Championship on Wednesday at The Den, with both sides hoping to boost their chances of promotion with a win.

Depending on results elsewhere, a win could send Fulham second, while Millwall can climb as high as eighth.

We say: Millwall 0-2 Fulham

Fulham are one of the form sides in the league and have the opportunity to move into the automatic promotion spots with a win, which should provide plenty of motivation against a solid but limited Millwall side.

Reading vs. West Brom (Wednesday, 8pm)

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic on February 1, 2020© Reuters

Mid-table Reading host league leaders West Bromwich Albion at the Madejski Stadium on Wednesday night as the Baggies look to extend their four-point lead at the top of the Championship table.

The Royals are in poor form ahead of the visit of Slaven Bilic's side, having not won any of their last six league games, and will not relish another tricky encounter.

We say: Reading 1-2 West Bromwich Albion

Reading are in something of a rut and a resurgent West Brom - boasting the best away form in the league - should pick up a third consecutive victory to further boost their chances of automatic promotion.

Stoke vs. Preston (Wednesday, 8pm)

Nick Powell celebrates scoring for Stoke City on February 8, 2020© Reuters

Relegation-threatened Stoke City host promotion-chasing Preston North End at the bet365 Stadium on Wednesday night as both teams desperately search for points.

Stoke are just five points clear of the drop in 20th, while sixth-placed Preston sit above Bristol City on goal-difference alone and cannot afford to slip up.

We say: Stoke City 0-1 Preston North End

Both sides come into this one in good form, but Preston appear to be finally overcoming their struggles on the road and could edge Stoke out for an important victory.
