How Juventus could line up against AC Milan

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up for their Coppa Italia semi-final showdown against AC Milan on Friday.

Football in Italy will make its long-awaited return to action this Friday as Juventus and AC Milan lock horns in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final clash.

The two sides have not taken to the pitch for more than three months as the coronavirus pandemic brought football to a halt across the globe, but the Italian powerhouses will now be vying for a spot in next week's final against either Napoli or Inter Milan.

The first leg between Juve and Milan ended in a 1-1 draw back in February - with Ante Rebic's opener cancelled out by a late Cristiano Ronaldo penalty at San Siro.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up as they look to book their place in the Coppa Italia final.

JUVXI vs. MIL

Out: Merih Demiral (knee)
Doubtful: Gonzalo Higuain (hamstring)

Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri almost has a fully-fit squad to pick from for their first game back, with the only real injury concerns being Merih Demiral and Gonzalo Higuain.

Long-term absentee Demiral remains out with a cruciate ligament rupture, while Higuain is being monitored after suffering a thigh strain upon his return to training.

The Argentine's absence opens up a spot for compatriot Paulo Dybala to lead the line for the Old Lady, with the 26-year-old likely to be supported by Ronaldo and Douglas Costa out wide.

Ex-Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey has suffered mixed fortunes during his inaugural campaign with the Turin giants, but given the speculation surrounding the futures of Adrien Rabiot and Miralem Pjanic, Ramsey could be in line to start in the middle of the park.

It would be a surprise to see the Welshman left out following a goal and assist in the Old Lady's 2-0 victory over Inter before the suspension, and Ramsey would likely be part of a midfield trio with Blaise Matuidi and Rodrigo Bentancur.

With regards to the defence, Sarri is expected to stick with the same back-line that started against Inter, with Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci forming a strong centre-back pairing.
