Which host nations can benefit at Euro 2020?

As many as 12 different cities will host matches at Euro 2020 next summer, but which nations are in line to benefit from the new system introduced by UEFA?

While the qualification process for Euro 2020 is still taking place, with the playoffs winner not being decided until as late as March, it is already possible to see where some nations will play their matches should they make it through to the Finals. This is a result of UEFA introducing a one-off format for this staging of the tournament, with 12 different cities hosting games throughout the competition. While there will be some teams contesting matches on what are effectively neutral venues, there will also be plenty of occasions when sides will be competing on familiar territory, particularly in the group stages where it is possible for one nation to play each of their three fixtures in their homeland. The majority of qualification groups are still to be decided ahead of the final two Matchdays, but we are already in a position to see where three teams will play their opening fixtures next summer.

When considering new betting sites 2020, you should think about placing an early bet on Italy to end their 14-year wait for silverware. Roberto Mancini's squad have not had to deal with the most difficult encounters during qualifying, but there has been an efficiency about their work, leading to them securing their spot in Group A with three games to spare. That means that Italy will play each of their three group games next year in Rome, and the rewards for emerging as group winners could potentially be a last-16 tie at Wembley and a quarter-final outing in Munich. A lack of travel could benefit several teams in the competition, and it is all set up for the 2006 world champions to have a prolonged run.

Like you can with free spins no deposit 2020 in the UK, you may feel like it is worth a punt on Russia, relative outsiders for the competition but have the potential to earn you significant profit from a small bet. The 2018 World Cup quarter-finalists must wait to see if Denmark win their qualifying group, but Russia are guaranteed to have at least two matches in Saint Petersburg during the group stages. Not only is that hugely beneficial to themselves, it is detrimental to any of their opponents who have to make the journey to the Krestovsky Stadium. Stanislav Cherchesov is having to work with an inexperienced squad, especially on the international stage, but there is plenty of time for these players to build unity before next summer.

Before the final set of matches in November, Spain are the remaining side who already know their potential route, with Roberto Moreno's team being placed in Group E. Unless Republic of Ireland defeat Denmark in a few weeks' time, La Roja will play their first three games in Bilbao, although there is minimal travel involved if they have to make the trip to Dublin for one match. However, placing tournament bets on Spain should be avoided at this stage. While topping Group E would provide them with a third-placed nation in the last 16, they could potentially face England in Copenhagen if they each finish as runners-up. The winner of that could go through to face Germany in Munich at the quarter-final stage, too, so Spain are one to avoid.
