Italy Under-21s boss Luigi di Biagio has branded Spain Under-21s "favourites" for Tuesday's Under-21 European Championship semi-final.

Italy won two of their three group fixtures to progress to the knockout round, while Spain collected maximum points to breeze into the final four of the competition in Poland.

Di Biagio has conceded that his team will "have to watch out" for Spain's "technique and their tactics", with the 46-year-old admitting that Italy are underdogs to make the final.

"We have to watch out for their technique and their tactics," Di Biagio told reporters. "Unsurprisingly they've dominated against almost all of the Under-21 teams. We're here to pull off a feat though, and it's within our capabilities.

"Spain are rightly favourites, because they're a great team. We have the ability to play with different formations. The only certainty is the four in defence, we could change something in midfield or up-front."

The competition's other semi-final will see England Under-21s face Germany Under-21s.
