Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner reportedly turns down an approach from Wolfsburg to become their new manager.

Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has reportedly turned down the chance to become the new Wolfsburg manager.

Wagner has defied pre-season predictions during his first full season with the Terriers so far, steering them to fourth in the Championship table.

Reports yesterday claimed that Wolfsburg had approached the 45-year-old as a possible replacement for Valerien Ismael, who is understood to be on the verge of being sacked by the club.

However, having considered the offer over the last 24 hours, BBC Sport reports that Wagner has decided to stay with Huddersfield as they push for a surprise promotion to the Premier League.

Wolfsburg are currently just one point clear of the Bundesliga relegation playoff place having won just two of their last 14 league games.
