Preview: Hamilton Academical vs. Kilmarnock - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Scottish Premiership clash between Hamilton Academical and Kilmarnock, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Hamilton Academical head into their Scottish Premiership encounter with Kilmarnock on Saturday looking to secure their third league win of the campaign and end their miserable run of form.

Meanwhile, Kilmarnock could move into fifth place with a victory against a side whom they defeated 2-1 back in September.

Hamilton earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Aberdeen last weekend, ending a run of five consecutive league defeats.

The pressure is still on manager Brian Rice however, who sees his side sit rock bottom of the Scottish Premiership after 14 matches.

Hamilton's eight-match winless league run is the longest losing streak of all the sides in the Scottish Premiership this campaign.

The Accies head into Saturday's match with a good record against Kilmarnock in recent seasons, winning their last two home matches against them without conceding a goal.

A win this weekend would be their first in the league since mid-September and could move them level on points with St Mirren in 11th place.

Kilmarnock were dealt a blow to their league campaign this week as the SPFL announced that they, along with St Mirren, have been consigned to Scottish Premiership defeats after being found guilty of breaches of coronavirus protocols.

Manager Alex Dyer will be disappointed with the news but was however happy with his side's most recent performance as Kilmarnock comfortably beat Ross County 3-1 last weekend.

Goals from Eamonn Brophy, Nicke Kabamba and Chris Burke helped Killie earn three points and end a run of three successive league defeats.

Kilmarnock beat Hamilton earlier this season and another victory would see them win back-to-back league meetings against the Accies for the first time since April 2018.

Team News

Hamilton's David Templeton (groin) and Charlie Trafford (broken ankle) remain sidelined with injuries.

Striker David Moyo, who started from the bench in the last match against Aberdeen, could replace Callum Smith in the starting XI.

Kilmarnock defender Stuart Findlay, who was shown a straight red card after just eight minutes against Ross County, is suspended for this weekend.

Clevid Dikamona remains sidelined with a ligament injury but is close to a return to training.

Striker Eamonn Brophy, who started and scored last weekend, will be hoping to keep his place in the starting lineup.

Hamilton Academical possible starting lineup:
Fulton; Stirling, Martin, Easton; Hodson, Callachan, Odoffin, Martin, McMann; Ogkmpoe, Moyo

Kilmarnock possible starting lineup:
Rogers; Millen, Broadfoot, Findlay, Waters; Power, Dicker, Tshibola; Burke, Kabamba, Kiltie

We say: Hamilton Academical 1-2 Kilmarnock

None of Kilmarnock's last 11 matches has ended in a draw, while Hamilton's 1-1 result last weekend was the first for them in their previous six matches. The Accies will be desperate for the three points, but the visitors have plenty of attacking options that are likely to cause problems for Brian Rice's side.
