Miller hopes it’s time for Hamilton’s luck to change

Accies take on Aberdeen on the back of a 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock.

Mickel Miller hopes Hamilton’s luck takes a turn for the better against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Wednesday night.

Accies picked up their first point in four Ladbrokes Premiership matches with a 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock on Saturday.

However, the 22-year-old former Carshalton Athletic attacker, who joined the Lanarkshire club in January, is looking to go one better against the Dons.

He said: “We had a burden on our back in the last couple of games where it has not gone our way but hopefully that has changed now.

“I do feel we have been hard done by in the last couple of games, we were really unlucky with officials’ (decisions) and sometimes we don’t help ourselves with some of the decisions we made.

“Kilmarnock are a difficult side to play on their home patch so we were grateful for that point.

“We know it’s not going to be any pushover game on Wednesday night so we have to stick together and hopefully get something out of the game.

“It is not an easy place to go to but I’m sure that if we keep together and keep our work-rate high we can get something out of the game.”

Accies boss Martin Canning stressed the importance of performance levels.

He said: “If we perform to the level we have in the last two games we are capable of going anywhere in the league and getting a result. That’s what we have to do.

“It was a good point against Kilmarnock but more importantly a good performance again, similar to the Rangers performance (lost 4-1).

“As long as we get the performance level right.

“If you don’t get the breaks or the decisions go against you and you lose the game – which happened in the Rangers game – it is easier to accept when you have performed to a level where you have at least given yourself an opportunity of taking points from the game.”
