Manager Gareth Southgate has handed an England debut to Burnley defender Michael Keane in the friendly international with Germany in Dortmund.

After an injury to Phil Jones, Southgate had limited options in the centre of his defence, but he has opted to give a first appearance to Keane, who has impressed for the Clarets in the Premier League this season.

The former Manchester United youngster features in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with Ryan Bertrand getting a rare start on the left and West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jake Livermore being given his second cap.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been given the nod in attack, with the Foxes man being supported by Dele Alli and Adam Lallana.

As for Germany, manager Joachim Low gives a debut to striker Timo Werner, who has impressed for RB Leipzig this season, while Manchester City winger Leroy Sane also features in attack.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen gets the nod between the sticks after Manuel Neuer was ruled out, while Lukas Podolski captains the side in his final appearance for his country.

Germany: Ter Stegen, Hector, Hummels, Kroos, Podolski, Weigl, Rudiger, Kimmich, Sane, Brandt, Werner
